Inspiriert wurde der freiberufliche Fotodesigner Frederik Schulz durch zahlreiche Reisen. Schwerpunkt seines Schaffens liegt auf architektonischen Motiven, urbanen Szenerien und verlassenen Ruinen.

Meist verwendet er dafür eine Panoramatechnik, die es ihm ermöglicht die gewöhnliche Wahrnehmung der Realität zu erweitern und eine sureale Perspektive zu ergänzen. Durch die Verstärkung, Förderung und Minimierung von Bildinformationen wird die Realität interpretiert und das Bild verliert den Eindruck von fotografischer Objektivität.

Für seine Motive nutzt er vorrangig das HDR- und sogenannte Pseudo-HDR-Verfahren, durch das eine verträumte Farbgestaltung erzeugt wird. Es entsteht für den Betrachter etwas nicht Existierendes, dass dennoch an die Realität erinnert.

Vertreten wird Frederik Schulz mit seine großformatigen Panoramen durch die Gallery BOX32, einer Galerie für großformatige digitale Kunst in Berlin Friedrichshain.

Frederik Schulz (1983), a photographer with a passion for panoramic pictures, or more precisely 360 degrees shots.

Through the panoramic technology he shows unusual perspectives that look surreal but portrays the real. Often his photos portray urban city life and architecture, and somehow these motives seems to match his surrealistic perspectives very well. His photographs reflects his love for extreme perspectives, colors, paintings and details.

Through enhancing, promoting or minimizing the information in his photos, the reality becomes interpreted and looses the objective impression of photography. For the last 3 years Frederik Schulz has focused entirely on his photography and works under the pseudonym "Optic Circus".

The motivation for his photography is the interest of showing the reality in a surreal light and adding another perspective. Panoramic views, big contrasts and a dreamy touch of colors all adds to the impression of looking at something surreal that somehow reminds us of the reality but is not. To show the reality in a fictive view.
